Teeter EP-550 Inversion Table - An Introduction

ByRon Donnelly

If you are suffering back pain or you want to straighten out your posture, one of the best options you can choose is an inversion table. Inversion therapy helps your back by utilizing the downward force of gravity and your natural body weight to release pressure from your spine. What one does in inversion therapy is to simply lie down and lock your feet in to the footholds. Then simply lean back to allow the board to tilt and invert you slightly with your feet in the air and your head close to the floor. By tilting you this way the usual stress that compounds on your spine everyday (caused by the downward pull of gravity) gets reversed relieving your back of pain, pressure and downward stress. The Teeter EP-550 is the latest and definitely the leading product when it comes to delivering great inversion therapy.

The Teeter EP-550 Inversion Table initially looks and feels like any other inversion table but what one would immediately notice is that it has several features that not only maximize the therapeutic results for your back but are also give you the most comfortable position possible. The table has a unique bed, using its own Flex technology, which adjusts to your back's shape for comfort and for range of movement when you stretch out inverted. This provides more mobility than what other tables can offer. It also features a foot platform that can be readily adjusted so you can find the right foot-locking position to maximize your ankle comfort whilst inverted. This is crucial since all of your weight is being held directly by you ankles while you are inverted. The Teeter EP-550 can be preset to tilt at twenty, forty and sixty degrees and you can also adjust it for custom desired angles as well.

There are mainly four noticeable benefits to using the Teeter EP-550 Inversion Table: the inversion table helps to rehydrate the discs which is vital for your back's healing process and it is a key factor in back flexibility and shock absorption as well. The second benefit you can get is the inversion of weight and pressure that helps realign the weight distribution on your body's skeleton. This is crucial to make sure there is no excess of body weight on the different parts of the body since this can cause unforeseen muscle and joint pain. It also helps lessen nerve pressure and relax tense or stressed out muscles at the same time. Lastly the table and inversion therapy gives the benefit of better flexibility in the joints. These are but four of the benefits you get when using the Teeter EP-550 Inversion Table and you will find that you will get a better back, you'll reduce the pain and build a stronger body all at the same time as well.

Teeter Hang Ups EP-950 Inversion Table - Is This The Back Pain Solution You've Been Looking For?

ByDonald Swenson

Is the Teeter Hang Ups EP-950 inversion table the back pain solution you've been looking for? This article reviews it in full detail and will help you make the decision as to whether or not this table is what you need for a healthier back.

Inversion tables in general work wonders on a bad back. By inverting your body upside down, you reverse the downward pressure that is put on your spine throughout the day and you allow gravity to work for you rather than against you and decompress and elongate your spine. Also, when you invert yourself, gravity creates traction on your spine and gently forces vertebrae that are subluxated and out of alignment back into place, accomplishing the same thing that many chiropractors do on a daily basis.

The Teeter Hang Ups EP-950 is a top-of-the-line model. It is heavy-duty and sturdy so that even people with big, thick frames can use them. It supports heights up to six feet, six inches, and weights up to 300 pounds. It also utilizes Flex Technology, where its backrest can help your spine get an even better stretch than it could from inversion alone. The backrest actually bends with your spine as you stretch it out so your range of motion is improved over normal inversion.

One of the biggest complaints that people have about inversion tables is that the ratchet system that holds you by your ankles can be very uncomfortable. The Teeter Hang Ups EP-950 alleviates this problem by utilizing a comfort dial in its ratchet system that not only is soft and comfortable, but that adjusts by foot size so that any user can find the right setting that fits them perfectly. Complaints of ankle discomfort are almost nonexistent with this machine.

If inversion alone isn't giving you the full stretch and decompression that you need, this inversion table also features what are called "EZ Stretch Handles" that allow you to generate an even deeper stretch as you invert yourself.

While you can certainly get plenty of benefits from a $100 inversion table, the Teeter Hang Ups EP-950 has a ton of features that will help you take your inversion to the next level, in addition to being one of the sturdiest and most well-built inversion tables on the market. I can speak from experience when I say it is tough as a rock, because I am a very big guy myself and it holds me up in complete comfort like I am a featherweight.

If you are suffering from back pain and you want to do something about it quickly and effectively, I cannot recommend this table enough.

This gives you a good idea of what others are saying about the equipment in the market. Below are reviews of the top 3 tables in the market.

Teeter Hang-Ups Ep-950
This Teeter hang ups table is without a doubt one of the most popular inversion therapy tables in the market. The main reason why many people like this particular teeter hang-ups table is because has many useful features and is really comfortable to use, despite being a bit pricey. The manufacturer utilizes injection molding and flex technology so as to enable maximum stretching, complete muscle relaxation and spine realignment. Moreover, this piece of equipment comes with a smooth back-rest that keeps friction at a minimum making it easier for your body to slide more easily during the stretch. How to Relieve Back Pain Using an Inversion Table

ByAshley G Nelson

Today, more people are purchasing inversion tables than ever before. The main reason for this is that this "hang upside down machine" enables spinal decompression thereby relieving back pain. Unfortunately, despite the increase in the number of people buying this particular machine, many people still don't know what to do with it once they get home. Below is a beginner's guide on .

Step 1
The first thing that you should do before you begin your lower back exercises is to adjust the height setting. To ensure that you leave enough space between your head and the floor, the height setting should be about 2 inches more than your actual height.

Step 2
Once you have adjusted the height setting, go ahead and adjust the tether strap. Remember, it is the tether strap that determines your angle of inversion. If you want to achieve a full, 90 degree, inversion, do away with the tether strap.

Step 3
While standing on the foot platform, put the ankle clamps around your ankles and adjust them until they feel secure enough.

Step 4
Raise your arms above your head one at a time and the inversion table will begin to tilt. That's because many inversion tables are designed to respond to shifts in body weight distribution.

Step 5
Once your body is inverted, you can remain in that position for between two and seven minutes. During this time, you can perform any of the following back strengthening exercises.

• Jackknife Stretch
To perform this simple stretch, just raise your arms so that they are below your head and remain in that position for 30 seconds. The purpose of this exercise is to increase blood flow to your back's muscles.

• Inverted Crunches
In order for your spine to maintain its natural shape, you need strong abdominal muscles. To perform an inverted crunch, cross your arms over your chest and slowly raise your upper body towards your legs until you are in a sitting position. Repeat this exercise as many times as you want.

• Arches
To perform an arch, just grab the frame of the table and raise your stomach away from the table so that you back looks like an arch.

Step 6
To return to an upright position, slowly place your arms at your sides and bend your knees slightly.

Step 7
Loosen the ankle clamps and slide your ankles out.

While the above guidelines apply to simple inversion tables such as the teeter hang ups f5000 inversion table, there are other more advanced teeter hang ups tables that give you more control over the equipment.

Inversion Tables: Your Guide To Buying The Right Inversion Table

ByAshley G Nelson

Inversion therapy is a technique for treating back spasm / pain that has been in use for over 2,000 years. It enables you to achieve a gentle form of spinal traction by raising the level of your hips above that of your shoulders. However, inversion therapy isn't so easy. You have to ensure that the bulk of your weight is supported by your lower extremities (legs) as opposed to your head and shoulders. The easiest way to do this is by using an inversion table. Here are some points that you should consider when selecting a table.

Comfort
The most important thing to consider when you are buying inversion tables is comfort. Don't choose an inversion table that requires you to contort your body into unnatural positions yet you are suffering from back pain. In addition, try to find a table that has some padding and a head pillow. However, don't buy one that requires you to change your clothes every time you want to stretch. Ideal inversion tables are smooth with minimal drag.

It is also important that you find a table that feels secure without necessarily pinching your ankles. Note that inversion tables that don't rattle or squeak provide a much better user experience.

Quality and Durability
While most inversion tables are made of steel, the quality isn't always the same. However, a table's weight is often an indication of its strength. In addition to quality, you should find out the table's height and weight limits; this will keep you from toppling to the floor during the therapy. A typical table is built to fit individuals with a height of up to 6'6" and a weight of about 250-350lbs. If a product is really of good quality, it will come with a warranty from the manufacturer. In addition, if the product has been tested independently, that's a big plus.

Easy Control
As you may imagine, inversion therapy takes some time to get used to. Therefore when you buy inversion table, find one with a wide range of inversions angles. Though the many benefits of inversion therapy are experienced at about 60 degrees, most people start out with an angle of about 20-30 degrees.

Easy to Use
If you are going to be using your inversion table on a regular basis, you'll probably want to pick a table that is easy to assemble. A table that doesn't require too much time and effort to set up or store away will save you lots of time and energy.

Understanding The Various Inversion Table Benefits

ByKatie Davis

More and more people today are recognizing that an inversion table benefits not just the spine. In addition to alleviating back pain, this innovative contraption also helps stretch and relax muscles, boosts blood circulation, reduces stress and tension and helps maintain an overall sense of well-being.

How an Inversion Table Benefits the Back

Over time, gravity draws the body downwards and contributes to a range of problems from prolapsed organs and reduced distance between the spinal discs to sluggish circulation, back pain and inefficient general body functions.

Inversion therapy tables work to counter the adverse effects of gravity. Spending time in an upside down position offers a natural type of traction that allows discs to recover lost moisture and increases the distance between the discs. This relieves the pressure on the discs and nerve roots and reduces the stress on the muscle groups that support the spine resulting in pain relief in the upper and lower back as well as the neck and shoulders.

The Many Other Benefits of Using an Inversion Table

Inversion therapy tables don't just provide relief from pain. They also help boost circulation of blood, which improves the oxygen supply throughout the body and help stretch out the muscles in the leg and back, making them more supple and flexible and less prone to injury.

The upside down position encourages blood flow to the brain, boosting its oxygen supply, which enhances mental performance and helps fight fatigue. Hanging upside down also helps people who have varicose veins as it encourages blood drainage from the legs.

Inversion table benefits also include an improvement in posture and reduction in stress levels. Additionally, there are several exercises that can be done using an inversion therapy table to build muscles, strengthen the abdominals, improve overall flexibility and tone the hamstrings and the glutes.

When using an inversion table, it is crucial to remember to start slowly and increase the incline and the duration very, very gradually in order to maximize the inversion benefits while decreasing the likelihood of injury.

You should always check with your primary care doctor prior to staring inversion table therapy or any exercise program. There are several contraindications and if you suffer from any of them you should not use an inversion therapy table without the consent of your doctor.

Finally, when looking at inversion therapy tables, know that all tables are not created equal. Spend some time researching brands and models to find the one best suited for you.

Make sure you review our inversion table ratings before selecting your table. We highly recommend the Life Gear 75112 inversion table for your inversion needs.
